Texas ASLA Award

TOPIO Land Design is pleased to announce receiving a Merit Award in Design for the St. Stephen’s Campus Greenway Project from the American Society of Landscape Architects, Texas Chapter. Assigned by a jury of select landscape architects from the state of New York, the award recognizes “quality of design; functionality; context; environmental responsibility; relevance to the profession, the public, and the environment; and design value to the client and/or other designers.”

This distinction is a credit not just to our work, but to the many collaborators we were privileged to work with over more than two decades on the three phases of the Campus Greenway:

  • Phase I, Moody Walk, completed 1997

  • Phase II, Dell Pedestrian Green, completed 2012

  • Phase III, Lower Moody Walk, completed 2017

The jury noted in particular the “remarkable transformation” the center of campus has undergone “that speaks to the transformative ability of landscape architecture.” Such a metamorphosis would not have been possible without the attention, work, and care of so many others connected to our firm and to the school. We accept this recognition with gratitude to all the minds, hands, and resources that contributed to restoring and reshaping the land.
